2015

First off, Happy new year to everyone!!!

It's been way too long since i've posted on here! Thought I would do a re-capp of 2015!......

It was a busy year! We were able to do lots of traveling....started by traveling to Seattle in May to meet up with my mom, then we flew to California to visit my sister and meet my new nephew! Then we went out to BC in July to see my family.

Ryan - He has been at his new job for 2 1/2 years now. He continues to work very hard and enjoys what he does. He is a 3D Project Designer and designs control room desks for NASA and airport control rooms. He also designed the control room desks that you saw in the newest Jurassic park movie that came out last summer! He really enjoys what he does and he is planning his new side business this year. It is in the works...!

Lisa - I started my freelance business doing hair & makeup for brides. I also started working for Mehnaz Khan Makeup & Hair Inc. doing formal hair/makeup for bridal parties. I also worked a 4-month contract with Estee Lauder in the Fall. I have been with Lauder for 4 years now.

Kaden- Turned 3 in August. He also started preschool in the Fall. He loves preschool!! he also started working with hew new SLP. He is getting bigger and stronger everyday.

Keslie - Turned 1 in August. Little miss Sassy pants! She is getting cuter and smarter everyday! She is mommy's little shadow around the house and has a very special bond with her dad. She is such a daddy's girl.

Ryan and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary in August. It was a great year! We definitely had our up's and down's but we have learned so much and a lot of growth has happened in our family... We have lots to look forward too for 2016. It's a new year, new changes, new beginnings.... it's going to be amazing!

Wishing all our family & friends good health, and happiness this year!

Keslie's room

We are finally starting to feel settled in the new house! and Keslie's bedroom is all done! I finished it a few weeks ago…. I decided to go with a "Vintage Ballerina" theme for her bedroom. light pink/white/cream with a splash of baby pink tulle. I had so much fun getting her room all cute for her! All I have left to do is make a crib skirt :) I love having a girl!!

Keslie {8 months}

Keslie turned 8 months on April 16th. I love to do little updates about her (usually on my Instagram) every month because lets face it, she's constantly growing, changing, and learning new things! I don't have her current weight but she is finally getting that chunky look, and I love it! Her hair is growing really fast….as you've seen she has been wearing cute little ponytails and bows! She is sitting up very well on her own and she's slowing starting to squirm around like she's going to crawl but she's not there yet. She is still nursing in the morning and before bed, but mostly eating solids during the day. She loves to snack on sweet potato fries---I make them.  No teeth yet but she is definitely teething. She loves baths. and books! she is constantly watching her big brother run around and i'm sure she can't wait to do the same. she says "Mom" and "mama." and the other day she said "dada" for the first time. She loves playing with tupperware! seriously... why do I buy toys? she has adjusted very well to her new bedroom since we moved. She sleeps like an angel, unless it's a growth spurt ;) I usually put her down for the night around 8 and she wakes up around 5 to eat, then goes back to sleep until 7:30-7:45ish. She loves to sleep on her right side. She is totally a daddy's girl! sometimes when she's with me she will fuss until I give her to her dad. It's cute though! She's the sweetest little angel.

Easter 2015

I can't believe I haven't blogged in 6 months?  So much has happened since then! I'm going to do better at keeping my blog up to date this year! I will do an update post next. I just really just wanted to post some pictures of the kids on Easter! It's so hard to get a good picture of them together…Kaden is always on the move! ;)

It was a pretty relaxed weekend. Last year we had a bunch of family and friends over to our place for Easter dinner so this year it was quiet, just us. The easter bunny came saturday night and left some chocolates and monster jam trucks for Kaden, and Keslie got a new book called "Peep Peep." Keslie loves books!! I'm glad she does because I love buying cute books. Kaden had fun throwing the plastic eggs around on his bed. I made Kaden a special easter bunny pancake breakfast sunday morning before conference….

We got to listen to Genereal conference…most of it anyways ;) it's hard to really listen when your feeding kids, changing bums, keeping them quiet and entertained! :) I didn't get as much out of it as I wanted so I will be watching the sessions again on my own. I'm glad conference fell on Easter this year…it helps to focus on what really is important over the easter season---our saviour, Jesus Christ. He sacrificed his life so that I can be with my family forever and I can be forgiven of the things I do wrong, everyday. I'm not perfect, but I trying to be more like him. He is the perfect example of love and forgiveness. I need him. I need his help, especially being a mother. I feel his love in my life everyday!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with their loves one's!

Keslie's Birth story

Keslie Lisa
born Saturday, August 16th 2014, 8:39am
7 lbs, 19.5" long

I love to blog our babies birth stories so I can always look back on them. There are always little details you forget over time! Sorry if I give too much detail…don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

It all started on friday, August 15th. I had my 39 week check up with my OBGYN that day at 3pm. I went in, got weighed, the usual fun stuff... I went alone to this appointment because the doctor said she could strip the membranes if I wanted to go ahead with that. I agreed! I got that done with Kaden at 38 weeks and I had him exactly two weeks later (on his due date). I'm not sure if it even did anything with him but I was willing to try it again for this baby! So she went ahead and did it….if you've had that done well you know how that goes. anyways…she told me right then that I was 3cm dilated! I was surprised but of course that's good news. she said I could experience some cramping/spotting afterwards which is normal and I did have some cramping start pretty much right after I left my appointment. I decided to go grab something fun for dinner since it was a friday night and I had a feeling that baby was coming that weekend. I went and grabbed some Korean BBQ  (Ryan's fav). Everything seemed the same when I got home... just a little bit of cramping but no spotting. We were just relaxing at home not doing much. I was texting with my mom trying to figure out when she should fly out. We needed her here for the babies' arrival so she could be with Kaden when we went in to the hospital. She said she had a feeling she should fly out to Calgary that night!  Thank goodness she did because Little did we know those tiny cramps I was having was the beginning of my labour!

Mom's flight arrived around 11:00 pm that night….I went to pick her up at the airport and no joke that's when I had my first contraction. I remember thinking…yup that wasn't a cramp…something is going on here. So I picked up mom and told her I think I was starting to have contractions. We started to pay more attention to them…especially after getting my membranes stripped that day. they were pretty random at first, very irregular so we thought it was just cramping. We got back to the house, had something to eat and were just visiting. by this time it was like 12:30. All of a sudden I felt like the cramping was getting a little stronger so we decided to start timing. Within the hour I was having regular contractions, not too painful yet at this point so I decided to shower! Who knew when I was going to get a shower next!? haha. They started to get more painful and regular after I got out of the shower. I tried laying down in bed but honestly felt like laying down felt so much worse! I stood through every contraction just holding my stomach.  It was just mom and I awake when this is going on…the boys were sleeping of course. I went in our room and woke up Ryan around 4am…told him to wake up I was having real contractions. his response: "I'm tired." LOL I told him to get up we probably had to head to the hospital pretty soon…

Contractions were pretty full force by 5am so we went in and were checked in around 5:30am. The doctor checked me and I was only at 4cm dilated. She made us walk around for a bit. We were only walking around for about 15 minutes before I couldn't even stand anymore. The nurse asked what I wanted to do for pain relief…I told her no to an epidural but was willing to try the laughing gas. She had me sit on the ball and breathe in the laughing gas. Well, nothing was happening! I felt like it was doing nothing! sitting made my contractions more painful I hated it so I said forget the laughing gas I'm going to do this natural! That was my goal anyways. I had an epidural with Kaden which made my labour 17 hours long so I didn't' want to go through that again. Then I decided I wanted to sit in the shower. I was only in there for a few minutes before I decided to come out.  The doctor checked me again and I was 6cm dilated. She said they were getting a bed ready for me. Right after that I started feeling very nauseous and told Ryan I was going to be sick and to find me a bucket asap! Poor Ryan…finds me a bucket just in time and I start puking. I was throwing up so hard that my water broke! I was hoping it would break on it's own so they wouldn't have to break it, haha. They immediately moved me into the delivery room after that and was getting everything ready. Doctor checked me again and I was at 8cm. Everything was happening SO fast! next thing I remember is feeling like she was coming out and I just needed to push! It felt so different because with Kaden I was so numb from the epidural all the way up to my chest! Couldn't feel much with him but this time I could feel absolutely EVERYTHING. I remember saying "I can't do this" over and over again and Ryan just kept telling me it was going to be okay I can do it! He was so amazing through the entire thing. I couldn't have done it without him! Not to mention…I worked out throughout my entire pregnancy to prepare my body so I owed it to myself to do it natural! I didn't work hard for nothin'.

I wasn't pushing very long, only about 9 minutes…she came so quickly! the doctor that delivered her couldn't have been older than me! anyways..they took her away for a few minutes so they could roll my stomach (push the blood clots out), then they brought her back to me and put her on my chest. I just remember thinking…what an angel! she is so perfect and i'm SO HAPPY all of that was over!  I was just so happy she was here safe. After feeding her I handed her off to daddy so they could stitch me. I only had a 2nd degree tear which wasn't as bad as my third degree tear with Kaden! My recovery from Kaden was brutal..he was 8 lbs, 13 oz, Keslie was only 7 lbs. I feel like my recovery this time has been a lot better and I could actually be up walking around! I was in the hospital for the first night and everything was going so well until I started feeling really sick. The doctor came in to check on me in the middle of the night. I didn't have a fever or anything but I felt so sick for some reason!? turns out they kept my IV in (antibiotics) in for TOO LONG! I was positive for the strep B so I needed the antibiotics when I first got to the hospital. I was so ticked as you can imagine! So I had to stay another night at the hospital because I was pretty sick but the next day they finally let me go home. Kaden and Nana were waiting outside to greet us when we got home and they even had a welcome home party for us…balloons and gifts waiting for Keslie in the house :)

What an amazing experience it all was….everything you go through during pregnancy and labour is so worth it in the end because you get to hold your little miracle! I am so thankful that God has trusted her to Ryan and I to be her parents. She is such a sweet little spirit! What a blessing!!!

Keslie…just a few hours old. I couldn't believe it... all the names we had picked out before hand just didn't fit her. It took us like two days to name her. We had to be in love with it and I wasn't in love with the names we had ready. We heard Keslie and it just sang to us! We also couldn't decide on a middle either but Ryan wanted her to be named after her mommy and of course I was okay with that :)

 First family photo.

Big bro Kaden holding his sister for the first time..he looks impressed! :)

All bundled up and ready to go home!!

First time holding our baby girl. best moment ever!!

All wrapped up…I call her our little cinnamon bun :)

Update and baby news!

Baby is a…GIRLl!!!! Yay!!! and like Ryan said…"there goes our bank account." I think he may be right ;)

I had my 19 weeks ultrasound last Friday…all went really well..everything looks good with baby except I have to go back for another ultrasound at 29 weeks. My placenta was resting a little low and they need to check that it moves which it should as baby grows bigger. I'm not too worried. My due date was also changed from august 24th to aug. 23rd. one day difference…whoopy. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going! I'm already half way and before we know it our little lady will be here. We are brainstorming names but won't pick one until she is here. :)

We attempted a family pic of all of us but it didn't go too well ;) a hyper toddler trying to take a nice, posed family picture isn't all that easy. Thanks Jennine for your assistance ;)

here is my 19 week, 2 day prego belly! baby girl and me ready to do our cardio :) i'm almost half way! I'm carrying low again…I can feel it in my lower back for sure. I carried low with Kaden too. I'm just hoping I don't have to go through back labour again yikes!! I am so happy that my morning sickness went away right after the first trimester and I have my energy back! I love to do my prenatal workouts they keep me in shape and also preparing me for the race of labour. I work out 4-5 days/week. healthy mama, healthy baby! :)

Updates: Saw my OBGYN today for my checkup. Baby's heart rate is good and she's moving lots (mostly during the night). I had a tiny bit of spotting this past sunday and a little more yesterday. I was pretty worried but could feel baby movements still. Doctor took a swab today and said the spotting is normal and could be from my cervix. My placenta is also laying low but I don't have placenta previa and the bleeding isn't coming from placenta. All should be fine just don't need to panic if I spot any more unless it's a ton of blood. Kinda scary because that didn't happen with my first pregnancy. Just hope all is well at my next ultrasound and hope that my placenta moves out of the way nicely. Positive thoughts!!

How far along? 19 weeks, 4 days.

Cravings: Any kind of fruit. pickles and cheese.

Weight gain: total gain of 10lbs up to date.

Morning sickness: none. as long as I don't east meat I won't be sick. ( I can't stand meat right now)

Half way and ready to face the end half….time is going by so fast! looking forward to the 3rd trimester (kinda). I just can't wait to meet her!!! :)
